A full website revamp was needed to provide more up-to-date functionality, improve the event calendar and content hierarchy and bring the three codes of racing under one identity. Some basic objectives for the new website included:
- Create a user-friendly experience for customers
- Responsive design to view on mobile and tablets
- Improve flexibility in CMS control
- Integration with the Kentico CMS to facilitate current promotions
The Racing Queensland family of sites now encompasses the industry site (for industry stakeholders) and the public site (for race goers). Whilst the industry site is very content driven, on the 'Go to the Races' site, a user can 'plan a day at the races' where they can find an event and add it to their plan and share it with friends. On the Industry site, content is personalised for specific users such as Owners, Trainers or Race Clubs.
Zeroseven was involved in Racing Queensland's strategy process from the start of the project and worked to create a multifunctional site that is user-friendly, engaging and one that will stand the test of time through dynamic functionality. One unique feature of the site is the Race Meeting videos, where video replays from the current month are uploaded allowing users to stay up-to-date with the latest races.
With improved flexibility, Racing Queensland's web presence has been enhanced by removing any risk and performance limitations. The website is responsive and optimised for mobile and tablet viewing encouraging users to view event information anywhere, on any device.
Integration with the Kentico CMS allows Racing Queensland to facilitate new requirements and promotions that have enabled stakeholder and consumer engagement. This engagement is achieved through various visual promotions and relevant industry news page, where users can connect and stay up-to-date with the racing industry. On this page tags and categories are used to enable users to find their content quickly and easily.
