The Cultural Awareness Portal is a resource for Griffith University Health students who are to undertake clinical placements.
Award: Interactive Media Award 2013 - Best in class
The brief was to create a resource that will be used by students, be visually striking and encourage participation.
The portal has been designed to take the student on a journey and includes information and testing your knowledge through online quizzes. It also contains important resources about where to gain further information as well as profiling Aboriginal communities throughout Australia.
The journey is completed by accessing each section, and gaining a stamp in your 'cultural passport'. At the end of the journey a cultural awareness certificate is presented and the viewer would have gained a deeper understanding of Aboriginal culture and history and a deeper understanding of the cultural issues that can be experienced by Aboriginal patients and health workers.
