THE BIG CHILL staff retreat 2016

Following what was the coldest week recorded for the year, “The Big Chill” was a fitting name for this year’s Zeroseven staff retreat. On Friday, July 1st, the team grabbed their packed lunches and headed to the ferry terminal at Tewantin, Noosa. A ferry ride over the river took us to the Noosa North Shore, where our team adventure began.

As soon as we arrived and got settled into our cabins, we slipped on our life jackets, grabbed an oar and prepared for our first activity, canoeing on the beautiful Noosa River. Our instructor taught us the best way to steer our vessels, avoid the sting ray’s, and work together to achieve some balancing acts on the canoes. Finishing the afternoon soaking wet and with a new appreciation for solid, dry land, we headed back to camp to get ready for dinner.

A gourmet Barbeque was the perfect way to warm up and let our hair down. When we reached our dinner venue, the team were able to mingle and fill our tummy’s up with a buffet of delights after an eventful day. We capped off the meeting with some speeches from the management team and celebrated our achievements over the year so far. Some of the team conquered the cold and had a onesie party before retiring to their cabins, dodging the very active kangaroo's on the way!

The final day of the retreat started with a hot buffet breakfast, where the team gathered before the final activity of the trip. It was the perfect weather for the team to mountain bike ride through the amazing bushland in Noosa north, with some picturesque stops at the beaches to watch the horse riders pass by. We all enjoyed our last moments before heading back over the river, and back to Brisbane.

This year’s retreat allowed us all to share in some great memories as well as get to know one- another even better. Our team is a close-knit bunch, and we are already looking forward to our next retreat away together, after what will be another successful year.
