Zeroseven takes the cake with the RSPCA!

By Chris 5-10 minute read

August 15th was the day for RSPCA Cupcake Day 2016, and we at Zeroseven couldn't pass up the opportunity to take part in two of our favourite events - helping animals and eating CAKE!

The task was simple: the more cupcakes eaten, the more money raised for RSPCA. Challenge accepted.

Running for only two hours in our West End office, Cupcake Day saw delicious treats of all varieties on offer for $4 each, with all proceeds going to the amazing RSPCA. A rainbow of coloured treats in an array of delicious flavours (including BACON cupcakes) covered our table from end to end - but not for long!

The end result saw an empty table and over $250 being raised for the RSPCA - a great result, and an even better target to overcome in 2017.

Although we did it all for the animals, a few accolades are indeed called for:

  • Cutest Cupcake: Shelyce
  • Late Bloomer: Brendan
  • Fastest Selling: Craig
  • Best Tasting: Margaret
  • Most Improved: Chris
  • New Promising Baker: Matt
  • Cutest Animal Theme: Francisco
  • Weirdest Flavour: Elizabeth (Did I mention bacon cupcakes?)
  • Made cupcakes despite illness, and a true team player: Kat
  • Guy who happened to walk into this on his first day of work: Damian

A big thankyou to everyone who participated in this year's Cupcake Day. We're all looking forward to 2017!

About the RSPCA:

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Queensland (RSPCA Qld) is the state’s oldest, largest and leading animal welfare charity, dedicated to improving the lives of all domestic, farmed and native animals throughout Queensland.

About Cupcake Day:

Cupcake Day for the RSPCA is a fantastic excuse to get family, friends and workmates together to eat delicious cupcakes. But, more importantly, it’s an opportunity to raise much-needed funds for the many abandoned, injured, neglected and sick animals who come into the RSPCA’s care each and every year.
