Are you mobile ready?

If your website isn't mobile friendly yet, you'll want to pay attention to this. Google will be expanding their use of mobile friendiness as a ranking signal.

Google states, "Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high-quality search results that are optimized for their devices."

So why exactly is it so important to be on the first page of the search results? The answer is simple, ranking signals can significantly affect how often prospects come across your page. In a recent case study conducted by Forbes, 40% of website traffic comes from mobile devices. If a website is not responsive, there's a substantial amount of visitors who are receiving a sub-optimal experience. Not only does this provide poor user experience but could significantly affect conversion rates.

Our Digital Designer, Emily shares her thoughts on responsive design:

"In 2015 responsive design should be mandatory, the technique we have developed at Zeroseven allows for web-based solutions to be compatible across a wide range of Internet-enabled devices and technology. This is made possible with fluid grids, flexible images, and media queries.

The tech industry continues to develop new devices, with new capabilities. At Zeroseven, we will continue to face these challenges and provide solutions that make sure the browsing experience is the same for all users across the board.

A simple step to make your mobile friendly site shine, is to eliminate non-essential  content, users only want to see key information and not be bombarded with content heavy sites."
