Overview

The two founders of Startnextweek.com.au approached us with a great idea for a website: they wanted to create a last minute booking service for training courses, offering consumers great discounts and access to hundreds of training providers all in one place.

They had the experience in the training industry and the business acumen, but they needed an experienced technology partner to develop the web application, which is where we came in.

Solution

Zeroseven designed and built a dynamic user-friendly web application, providing a wide range of features.  With multiple end-user types including customers, training providers and administrators the application was built using multi-tiered architecture.

The site’s usability was a key factor, so throughout the design process we ensured that the key journeys were intuitive, analysing current user experience trends and following many existing web standards.

For the wide range of courses available, Zeroseven provided several dynamic search features enabling the user to easily narrow down their searches, including the dynamic suburb list and an expandable search radius.

Other features were introduced to link customers with training courses including waitlisting, email notifications and subscriptions allowing dynamic communication between the customer and training providers.

Multiple payment methods were implemented to provide the customer with several options when booking the high-ticket options including credit card, on-account and POLi (integrated direct bank transfer).

Site administrators can manage the entire site using a comprehensive administration and reporting area.

Results

The Startnextweek.com.au site currently* has over 600 training providers, 100,000 course places and experiences a high level of usage and sales, which increases daily.

After just 3 months of operation, the site has won an AIMIA award – the top interactive awards in Australia.
