Overview

The Mining Industry Skills Centre partners with industry and informs government to maximise the skills of workers in the resources industry to assist in the sustainability of the industry.

 

Their website was in need of some major updates, including the integration of a forum, flash elements and full website content management.

 

Solution

Zeroseven created a visually appealing website updateable using the Umbraco website content management system (CMS).

The website opens with a unique flash panel stretching the width of the page and continues this theme of prominent visual headers on the inside pages.

 

The site also features many content pages, so it was important to make it easy to navigate and logically structured. The site structure allows for multiple tiers of content all updateable through the CMS, while keeping a consistent look and feel.

 

Unique features of the site include:

- A flash network map which displays details of network group meetings by location
- A forum which is used for network group member discussions
- An online ordering process for the re-issue of certification documents

 

Also an interactive intranet has been developed to keep staff members up to date with internal news, events and provide access to important forms and databases.

 

Results

The re-vamp of the Mining Industry Skills Centre website ensures the site has a fresh new look and all information is easy to find for the user.
