Overview

Build It Back Green is a new global movement which recognises that scientific predictions of more intense severe weather are becoming a reality. The Build it Back Green website has been designed to help Victorian communities recovering from the Black Saturday bushfires to build their homes back in an affordable and sustainable manner.

 

Solution

Zeroseven worked closely with Green Cross Australia to develop an information portal which provides information about building back with sustainable and fire-resistant materials including lowest cost green rebuilding techniques, focusing on energy efficiency, water savings and indoor air quality.

 

The site also features real-life stories from fire affected communities which can be submittted on the site and which are used to paint a picture of those affected by ravaging bushfires and what they are doing to rebuild with sustainable materials and processes.

 

As other extreme weather events occur around Australia, this website will grow and as stories are shared, and knowledge gained, we hope to make sustainable rebuilding the norm.

 

Results

The Builld it Back Green website has had huge success in bushfire affected communities and is going to expand in the near future to include specific suppliers of materials and products for sustainable rebuilding.
