In lunch room conversation this week one of Zeroseven's math enthusiasts mentioned the sad passing of one of the great 20th century mathematicians, Benoît Mandlebrot. Mandelbrot studied and popularised the art of mathematical visualisation, including the most famous Mandelbrot set.
Without comparison to the obviously great work of Mandelbrot, another form that we consider digital art is the often neglected partner to design and great passion of Zeroseven: programming ! We love spending our time getting stuck in to large and complex solutions, and while often we cannot reveal many details of these projects lets just say what some may consider boring, we see beauty. There is real satisfaction in developing programmatic solutions that solve real world problem.
Coding is a visual & literary art and on any day in the Zeroseven office you will hear conversations in many languages including ASP.NET, SQL, Actionscript, XSLT, Javascript, xHTML, HTML5 and CSS (with the odd use of the English language) that, once compiled, translate in to works of art!
If you have not read up on Mandelbrot's research I encourage you, read the Wikipedia article and expand your view of art...
