Paintball: Zeroseven versus Trimble Networks

Several Zeroseven staff members were looking a little sore this morning after an intense, but friendly, battle on the paintball field against Trimble Networks (a fellow Brisbane company specialising in management of Windows networks and IT infrastructure) at the weekend.

With varying levels of trepidation, 19 of us donned camo and masks, filled our guns with paint and prepared for 12 rounds of competition.  The organisers started us off with some strategic battles where teamwork and patience dominated, then as the day went on, turned up the intensity level shifting the advantage to the brave and pain tolerant.

As far as the match up went, it was fairly even. Post competition analysis would suggest that Zeroseven faired better in the earlier games, but Trimble Networks pipped us later on, but that may have something to do with advanced weaponary - see tip (2) below, which is a tip made with the benefit of hindsight.... all up, an enjoyable day for all.

My tips for anyone soon to play paintball: (1) If the organisers ask for volunteers to play one on one, keep your hand down, as it may not be the cat and mouse game you expect (check alt texts on images below). (2) If somebody upgrades their gun and stocks up on paint, make sure they are on your side. (3) Do not wear the bib for terminator (4) In the game ‘Civil war’, do not be the last man standing in a team, when your team has failed to remove any of your opponents (check alt texts on images below).
