Zeroseven partners with its clients to produce solutions that use the combined skills and business knowledge of both companies.
Every project we work on is unique, so it’s not possible to have a strict formula from start to finish of all the steps involved in a project, but below we have outlined a rough guide to the process.
Initial Meeting and Project Scope
It’s our preference to meet all our clients in person to start the relationship and give them an overview of the services we can provide. Once the overall scope of the project is determined, an account manager with relevant experience is assigned, who is the client's primary point of contact for the project.
We take a brief from the client with their requirements and top level technical details of the project or work with them to put one together.
Specifications and Planning
Using the client’s brief and information taken from interaction with the client, we create a detailed project specification containing information on the design, architecture and functionality required. The depth of the detail contained within the specifications depends on the level of complexity of the overall project.
Design Stages
We split the design of any required user interfaces or creative elements into two distinct stages, In the first we create several (usually 3) initial design concepts which demonstrate the look and feel alternatives that we propose. After this has been narrowed down to a single concept, we concentrate on the second stage of creating the final design, normally including all key pages and user journeys.
Development
The development of web application components and required databases can sometimes start during the design stages, but the development or integration of the user interface has to occur after the design is complete and signed off.
The user interfaces of most websites we develop use the standard suite of web technologies; html, css, JavaScript, Flash, Ajax and are coded according to standards provided by organisations such as the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium).
Application development is performed by our dedicated team of Microsoft.Net and SQL Server developers, who also perform any integration required with 3rd party systems.
Content/Copy
Many of the solutions we provide include administrations or a CMS that allow the client to create and edit the content within their site. If this is the case, then we will make sure the client has the knowledge required to manage the site when we provide the system login details. Administrations can often be made available before the site or application is finished allowing the editors to have additional time.
For sites or applications that don’t require a CMS, we can either offer copywriting services or let the client know how we need the content supplied.
Testing and Deployment
Before we go live with any site or application we perform local testing and testing the application in its live environment. When our developers, designers and the project’s account manager are satisfied, we invite the client to go over the site as well to ensure everything is working as expected.
For larger applications we often utilise a test platform and can perform unit and load testing when required.
The final website or application is deployed live when testing is complete and all parties are satisfied that it meets all the initial project requirements.
